Summary
Craig has a unique ability to inspire and motivate young people and teaching professionals within construction education drawing on his own multitude of experiences both in the building industry and the construction education sector; from being a trainee tradesman himself, to running his own successful building company, drawing from his own personal experiences within construction education through the set up and development of his own building academy and via his personal property portfolio developments.
On such occasions Craig is keen to emphasise that his construction trade skills have been key to his very successful television career. Craig is able to tailor his presentations to meet the needs of each client’s event requirements.
Educational Speaking & Awards Engagements
Examples of Craig’s speaking engagements notably include;
- Deliver a keynote speech & hand out awards to apprentices at the National Construction College South, Kent in association with Construction Industry Training Board alongside the CITB Deputy Chairman, 2006.
- Deliver a motivational speech dwelling to key skills trainers, associates and consultants of the national key skills support organisation Learning For Work at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, London, 2007.
- Provide one to one advice sessions to people across the North East interested in pursuing a career in construction at the South Shields ‘Build a new future’ events day in association with Business Link, 2006.
- Deliver the opening speech of welcome to delegates and key industry professionals at the Northern Urban Regeneration Exhibition and Conference at the Liverpool Arena, 2008.
- Deliver a motivational speech and hand out awards on 2 consecutive evenings to construction and other NVQ apprentices at Prospects College, Essex, 2008.
Education Campaigns & Initiatives
Craig has also launched many key educational initiatives on behalf of corporate clients and national charities helping to raise media interest in campaigns.
Just some of Craig’s education initiatives and campaign work notably include;
- Launch the ‘Adult Learning Grant’ campaign across the North-East on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council. Craig visited locations in Middlesbrough and Newcastle-upon Tyne with the LSC North-East Regional Director encouraging youngsters to earn and learn, Autumn 2006.
- Spearheading the national Acton for Mesothelioma Day 2008 campaign on behalf of the British Lung Foundation, encouraging building professionals to be aware of the risks of asbestos exposure causing this cruel chest cancer. Craig participated in a photoshoot and undertook 60 radio interviews with stations across the UK for the charity alongside the BLF chief executive, Spring 2008.
- Participating in a national campaign to encourage the increased use of public litter bins and encouraging recycling initiatives on behalf of WRAP the Waste and Resources Action Programme in association with the Environment Agency, 2003.
- Spearheading a national radio campaign on behalf of British Gas in summer 2008 to encourage homeowners to test their boilers before the winter. Craig participated in numerous live radio interviews with stations across the UK along with speaking to members of the press to highlight the campaign aims, 2008.
Media & TV Themed Educational Speaking Engagements
He is also highly skilled at delivering key note presentations to tutors and aspiring professionals within media and television studies drawing on his unique experiences as Britain’s first reality television show winner, an experienced and world travelled TV presenter and as an executive producer and MD of his own TV production company.
Examples of Craig’s media and television speaking engagements and awards events notably include;
- Presented awards to national winning media students and students from other performing arts disciplines at the UK Skills Challenge Awards at a ceremony in Derby College on behalf of the Further Education Skills Competitions Council, 2005.
- Delivered a motivational speech to media students and presented end of year academic achievement awards to students at West Cheshire College, 2005.
- Hosting and compere at universities and colleges across the UK at students awards events, summer balls events and other key events in the academic calendar.
