My Story
Craig was born in Liverpool in 1971; he has been in construction since the age of 19. His first building experience was as a labourer for Wrekin construction, carrying bricks and mixing cement. Whilst working full time at Wrekin he attended a brickwork course at Wellington Trent College, leaving after 12 months with a City & Guilds in brickwork. He went on to set up his own company as a sole-trader. By the time he was 27 prior to appearing on television, Craig employed 30 tradesmen, his business exceeded a £1million pound turnover.
In 2000 Craig became the first winner of C4’s ‘Big Brother’ with over 10 million tuning in to watch the final night of the 9 weeks. He donated his £70,000 winnings to his best friends niece, Joanne Harris, who needed a heart and lung transplant. Craig remains in contact with Jo and continues to actively support a wide range of charities.
In 2001 the BBC spotted Craig’s skills and he was drafted in as resident expert on various shows. He has now presented and appeared on over 650 TV shows for major broadcasters including BBC, ITV, C4, Five, Sky One, UK Style, and Discovery Real Time (formerly Discovery Home & Leisure). He has presented across the globe, destinations including; Canada, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, Germany, Cyprus, Kosovo, Bosnia, France, Spain and Ascension Island.
